Fueled by Fashion: Pynkie Brown Plus Size Designs Brings the 1970s to Life for the Modern Curvinista!

Los Angeles, CA, September 26, 2016 -- Who doesn't love the 70s?! Disco, Saturday Night Fever, and, of course, FASHION! Although 70s fashion never dies, it's always been much harder for plus size women to bring back the memories of it. Until now, that is!

Pynkie Brown Designs, created by Schynthia Johnson, has brought the 1970s back to life for the modern curvinista. The Pynkie Brown girl is a true femme fatale, conquering the fashion world one bell bottom at a time. She is unafraid and unapologetic, evoking the glory of her 70s predecessors by being bold, dynamic, classy, and fearless.

California curvinistas can treat themselves to a sneak peek of the latest collection ofPynkie Brown Designs at the Fueled by Fashion runway show on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 6-9 PM PST at The Hilton at LAX, located at 5711 W. Century Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA, 90045.

Pynkie Brown's founder and CEO, Schynthia Johnson, states, "I am loving where the plus size fashion industry is heading. I love that various designers have emerged to create a movement. I am also proud to be a part of that movement and to lend my unique perspective to help establish progress. My aesthetic is a modern spin on the stylish classics of the 60’s and 70’s and my fabric selections encompass bold prints and patterns which go beyond the ideology that plus size women should only wear dark colors and simple patterns. I refuse to be confined by the old fashion notions of industry insiders!

When I watch fashion reality based shows, one questioned is repeatedly asked of the designers: 'Who is your girl?  Who are you designing for and what is her story?' No matter the different viewpoints, it seemed the plus size woman was never a consideration when answering this question.  No one was advocating for us and no one wanted to. Needless to say, it left me feeling slightly disappointed.

When I created Pynkie Brown Designs, I posed the same question to myself and I thought a lot about the woman I wanted to dress. She likes being the center of attention. She works the sidewalk like a catwalk. She lives and revels in every moment of life regardless of her size. She is an extension of me. I created Pynkie Brown Designs to give plus size women their “wow” moment. A head turning moment. A moment that transcends time. A moment to look and feel absolutely beautiful. Through my brand I am advocating for every woman’s right to make a commanding fashion statement!

This is my take, my voice, and my time. This is Pynkie Brown Designs!"

These amazing designs will be perfected with makeup provided by the Michael Vincent Academy Beauty Institute.
